In regards to the manufacturing process, IFGS outperforms other FRP pipe suppliers as all production parameters (rotation speed, temperature, etc.) and product characteristics (diameter, pressure class and stiffness class) are tightly controlled.
Technologically, the process takes place on a continuously rotating steel mould. Multiple sensors and cameras monitor the automated process for molding FRP pipe fittings and other circular products (tubes, cones, tanks, silos etc.) For thermosetting, reinforcements in the form of rovings are wound around a mandrel, after passing through a catalyzed resin bath.
With glass fiber as reinforcement material and resin as matrix material, the double-walled oil tank is formed by making a layer of impermeable shell outside the single-layer steel tank through the spray process and contact forming process.
